Topic: The Economy of War

Hypothesis:

A war is beneficial for the country’s economic, political and social life.

Goal: Prove the hypothesis or refute the hypothesis.

Requirements:

1. Choose any war in human history that had a profound effect on the countries involved in it in terms of their economies, political and social life.

2. Using statistical data and historical documents describe the situation in the country before and after the war. Include information about the changes in laws (connected with taxation, government regulation, private businesses), social trends (education and cultural life) and economic changes (rates of employment and unemployment, main industries, GDP, etc.)

3. Prove or refute that a war benefits a country’s economy, political and social life.

4. Explain why, in your opinion, a war has such an effect on a country and provide the underlying principle of the changes happening to a country involved in a war.
